Christmas Rain

How very, very weird.

A green Christmas in Quebec. That's just unheard of. It's just...... no.

Tomorrow, we fly out to Ontario to spend Christmas with Main Man's parents. It's green there too.

I took my skis out of storage the day I put my golf clubs away. I know... what was I thinking? It's almost as though I was expecting winter to arrive or something.

The only positive thing I see coming out of this snowless state is that people will be quicker about taking down their Christmas lights this year, rather than waiting for the Spring thaw.

Oooh, and the no-shovelling thing. That's pretty cool too.

In the meantime... rain, snow, or sunshine... have yourselves an awesome Christmas! I'll be back next week.

p.s. - Santa? Did you catch the part about me being somewhere else on Christmas morning? Okay... just making sure you'll know where to find me. Thanks!

Global warming? I think it is supposed to be warm enough here (SC) for a trip to the beach.

Welcome to Ontario, where it doesn't feel like Christmas because there is no snow.

My husband is also from Quebec (where are you from? I'm sure you have mentioned somewhere in your blog but I haven't had a chance to read the whole thing, don't hate me.) and I said, I'm not going to visit your family unless there is snow!

No, not really, but it's not right that there isn't snow...It makes everything look so pretty.

Anyhoodle, Joyeux Noel and all that...

Thanks for the greetings, Dale. Right back atcha!

Em, what an awesome opportunity to make a sandman! (we sure as hell are not making any snowmen around here!)

Tanya, I'm from the Townships. How weird would it be if me and your hubby sat next to each other in homeroom?

J, I had a terrific Boxing Day! I avoided the stores like the plague and celebrated Main Man's day-after-Christmas birthday (poor guy, I know). Today is also my niece's birthday. I am now officially broke. Birthdays around this time of year should be banned, that's what I say.

Berry, you're back home. How did you enjoy the spring here? I'm off with this crummy weather.

Anyway, my husband is from Acton Vale... a tiny little hamlet (well, I guess it's not a hamlet...a village he always calls it).

I was very excited to go and visit there the first time but not so much anymore. Not that there's anything wrong with it, just there is nothing to do, and it takes us almost six hours to get there...blah blah blah...I sound so complainy and that's not my intention, really...

Tanya, I know A-Vale! I was born in Drummondville, and my mom's family is from that general area (she was born in St. Theodore.... if Acton Vale is a "hamlet", then St. Theodore was more of a "let"!)... but I was raised in the Townships.

Your man must be francophone? I'm not aware of an anglophone population in that area.

Hahah! My husband was born in Drummondville, too.

I met him here in Toronto, he was working with my brother in law, blah blah blah...Maybe you're his cousin?!

It's funny because his mum doesn't speak English so I really have to retune my ear when I go over there and I manage to survive with my French and their French, and as long as she keeps feeding me tourtière, I'm fine!
